'Big Bang Theory' Season Finale: Another Wedding?

The ninth season of The Big Bang Theory began with Penny and Leonard's wedding, and it might end that way, too. In the season opener, the couple eloped to Las Vegas, and in tonight's eason finale, they'll be preparing for a second, more traditional, wedding ceremony back at home. Some special guests will make the event a bigger deal - and also probably more of a headache.

The special guests will include Leonard's father, Albert, who will appear for the first time in the series and will be played by veteran comic actor Judd Hirsch. Also on hand will be Albert's ex-wife, played by Christine Baranski, and Sheldon's mother, played by Laurie Metcalf. With all the potential fireworks that parents can cause, the wedding ceremony might never happen.

One thing that definitely won't happen in the episode is the engagement of Sheldon and Amy, an event that fans have been anticipating for a long, long time. Executive producer Steve Molaro told Glamour that the couple will get engaged "If and when something like that feels right to us," but that he thinks "they are just in a great place right now."

The season finale of The Big Bang Theory airs on Thursday, May 12, on CBS.
