'Big Bang Theory' Gets a (Last?) Season Premiere Date
by EG
At the beginning of each fall TV season, CBS has to contend with Thursday night NFL football games that get in the way of its regular series' season premieres. The network usually solves part of the problem by premiering its biggest comedy series, The Big Bang Theory, on Monday nights and then moving the series to Thursday nights once football is over. That's how it will work this fall, too.
The Big Bang Theory will kick off its tenth season on September 19, and it will move to Thursdays starting on October 27. That puts the season premiere right at the head of the network's official premiere week, and the episode will air immediately before the debut of the new Kevin James comedy, Kevin Can Wait. Several of the network's other series will have staggered premiere dates stretching to the end of October.
Rumors have been floating around for months that this season could be the last for The Big Bang Theory. Showrunner Steve Molaro hasn't done much to quell those rumors.
"The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point," he told The Hollywood Reporter back in December. "The real answer is I don't know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can."
