'Big Bang Theory' (Probably) Coming Back for Two More Seasons
by EG
Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory will probably be its last, but that's two years away. Sources familiar with CBS confirmed this week that the network is close to a deal to keep the show's cast intact for two more seasons.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that anonymous-but-reliable sources say that negotiations with Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayaar are nearly complete and that a deal is imminent that would keep Big Bang going for at least two more seasons.
In the reported deal, all five of the principal cast members would earn in the vicinity of a million dollars each per episode. Galecki, Parsons and Cuoco already earn that much, but the new deal would give a raise to Helberg and Nayaar.
Neither the network nor the show's producers would officially confirm the rumor, and there's no official word that, if the deal should go through, the series' twelfth season would be the last. Given that even an eleventh season seemed like less than a sure bet, however, speculation is high that the hugely popular series could come to an end in 2019.
The series' current season, its tenth, will conclude in May.
