'Better Call Saul' Gets a Premiere Date and New Teaser
by Andy NeuenschwanderSet your calendars: "Better Call Saul" has an offical premiere date!
The "Breaking Bad" spin-off will premiere on Sunday, February 9 at 10pm on AMC, with its second episode following the next day, Monday, February 10 at 10pm, which will be the show's regular time slot for the rest of the season.
"Better Call Saul" will focus on the life of Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) a number of years before he started working with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. Back then, he was Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer in Albuquerque who wasn't yet quite as entangled in the criminal world.
Of course, from the newest teaser, it seems pretty clear that Saul was handling plenty of morally ambiguous clients well before Walt and Jesse, as the short trailer shows us shots from a seedy motel room with drugs and booze everywhere, with a circled ad for Saul's office.
Jonathan Banks will be reprising his role as enforcer Mike Erhmantraut, and new cast members include veteran actor Michael McKean as Jimmy/Saul's father.
Fans of "Breaking Bad" are already excited about the series, and so is AMC: the network has already renewed the show for a second season, consisting of 13 episodes. The first season will be a slightly shorter 10-episode order.
