Ben Stiller Announces 'Zoolander 2' via 'Walk-Off' with Owen Wilson at Fashion Week

Yeah, we know that sequels are overdone these days, but this one we're actually excited about.

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson crashed Paris Fashion Week with an unannounced "walk-off," just like in the original "Zoolander." The two took to the runway, breaking up the regularly scheduled fashion show with some modeling of their own.

As it turns out, the whole thing was a stunt to announce "Zoolander 2," the long-awaited sequel to Stiller and Wilson's original comedy hit following less-than-bright male models.

"Zoolander" was released in 2001, so when we say "long-awaited" we mean it: with a scheduled release date of February 12, 2016, "Zoolander 2" will hit theaters 15 years after the original.

While rumors have been swirling for a while about a sequel, this is the first official announcement from Stiller and Paramount. As for the plot, Still spoke before in an interview about how he would tackle the story if a "Zoolander" sequel came to be.

"In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it’s changed — it just happens so quickly," Stiller said. "I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it's 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves."

Will Ferrell is set to return along with Stiller and Wilson, and Penelope Cruz is rumored to have joined the cast.
