by Shannon KeirnanBen gets a call from Vera, who can’t stop thinking about him. Ben is busy preparing for their meeting tomorrow, where he and Tommy will present Rail Mall. They have phone sex… with her assistant Bruce on the line.
Maddie comes in, preparing for school, and tells Kate that Will says hello. Kate and BJ grill her about how he said hi. He’s at the door, turns out. He apologizes for just showing up but he tells her he wanted them to maintain a good relationship as neighbors. He invites her to his house for a small get together.
Tommy and Ben go to present their business plan. However as they sit around the table, their counterpart presents how that idea will fail. Instead of the food delivered at their stop for Rail Mall, the rest of Vera’s team suggests “take and bake” food.
BJ wants to know if Kate is going to be all over Will at the party but Kate says no. BJ makes Kate go get her a drink, and a woman approaches her and Maddie. They’re looking for real-life mothers and daughters for commercials. BJ makes Maddie be quiet about not actually being related.
At the party, Kate gets distracted by amazing baked goods. It turns out they were made by Lance, who thinks she is very pretty. He gets called off and Will comes over to say it’s ok, that they’re dating other people, right? He certainly is. Kate yells across the room, trying to get a date with Lance.
Ben comes in to complain about his meeting. Kate finds out about the commercial, and okays it since Maddie says she’s having fun. BJ tries to mother Maddie which Kate calls “terrifying.”
At another business meeting, Ben brings in people from restaurants to try and get his take out idea more cred, but everyone is high. Ben and Tommy and a hopeful lady all walk out and take the train idea with them.
Kate and Lance are baking, but Kate is distracted by all the questions in her mind. She goes off on a rant that includes Will. She gets a little crazy, but Lance kisses her anyway and says he's okay with crazy.
Kate primps in her mirror, confessing to BJ that she kissed Lance. They have a dinner date set up for later.
Things aren’t going well between BJ and Maddie, who doesn’t have the correct fake English accent.
Ben, Tommy, and the hapless Stephanie try to work out a new business idea. Stephanie realizes she has made a terrible mistake in following them.
Kate has Lance over. They’re preparing dinner when the doorbell rings. Kate goes to answer it, and gets kissed by Will. While she’s working on figuring out what just happened, Vera comes, looking for Ben. Kate hustles her into the garage, where Ben has ordered pizza. He has had the pizza man deliver him a surprise—targeted recommendations, a new concept for delivery food. Vera is impressed by Rail Meal.
In the kitchen, there’s a lot of strangeness going on after the kissing. Lance leaves when he finds out what happened. Will tells Kate that he missed her, and he doesn’t like seeing her with Lance. She reminds him she is still the same crazy person he broke up with.
BJ and Maddie audition for their commercial. The casting director tells them that BJ got the part… but he wants to pair her with a different kid. Maddie calls over, asking if they got it, and BJ tells her no, that she nailed it but the director didn’t like BJ, and they leave.
Lance comes back after taking a walk to clear his head. Will has left, since he still can’t accept all of Kate’s hang ups, and the two resume their date.
