Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Alba Confirmed for 'Total Recall' Rehash

Two more A-listers have joined the cast breathing new life into a 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger hit, confirms The Hollywood Reporter.

THR reports that Kate Beckinsale ("Underworld") and Jessica Alba (the two "Fantastic Four" movies, "Machete", "Sin City") are locked in to play female leads Lori and Melina alongside Colin Farrell in the "Total Recall" remake due to hit theaters next year.

Beckinsale and Alba join Bill Nighy ("Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End"), who will portray resistance leader Quatto, baddie Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad") and cameo performer Ethan Hawke.

The original tells the tale of construction worker Douglas Quaid, played by Schwarzenegger, and his confusion as to whether he's a memory implant guinea pig or a Martian freedom fighter relocated to Earth. This remake will supposedly eliminate the Mars subplot and focuses on dueling nation-states Euromerica and New Shanghai.

"Live Free or Die Hard" and "Underworld" director Len Wiseman will helm "Total Recall," which begins filming this June in Toronto.
