Batwing Accident On 'The Dark Knight Rises' Set!

There have been on-set accidents since shooting began on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises." Anne Hathaway's "Catwoman" stunt double recently had a collision with an IMAX camera. Now, the Batwing has taken a nasty tumble during shooting.

This is why you can't have nice things, Christopher Nolan!

Man, our favorite director is playing a little rough with his "The Dark Knight Rises" toys. Nolan's only Batwing aerial vehicle constructed for the film's shooting nearly demolished its entire right side when it struck a street lamp while speeding down a street during a chase scene, reports SplashNewsOnline.

The accident itself didn't injure anybody, but it wouldn't shock me if Nolan went ballistic and struck the fear of God into a few individuals while the crew spent an hour repairing the shoot's one-of-a-kind vehicle.

Take a look at the Batwing photos. Some believe the design confirms that it's actually a Batcopter. Those who believe that point out that there's a space atop the flying where it looks like helicopter blades could be seamlessly added during post-production.

There are also rumors that the action will see the Tumbler actually convert into the Batwing/Batcopter. Time will tell, but it's always fun reading the speculation that inevitably surrounds Nolan's "Batman" shoots. Anybody else remember when it was so super-certain that the Riddler was showing up in this one?

Now, it actually looks like he's one of the few rogues with whom Batman won't be tangling this time around.
