Jay Basu, the writer behind the recent release The Girl in the Spider’s Web, has been hired to rewrite the screenplay of Universal's long-gestating Battlestar Galactica movie.

Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy wrote a previous draft of the feature — set to be directed by Hunger Games filmmaker Francis Lawrence — a reimagining of the 1978 sci-fi series that follows a small group of human survivors aboard a battleship tasked with rebuilding society after a massive robot attack.
