'Batman v. Superman' Rumored to Star Jena Malone as a Female Robin

Could our next Batman sidekick be a woman? It's looking that way!

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" has been filming in the Detroit and East Lansing areas recently, and an extra working on the movie reportedly leaked some info about a recent scene.

It would appear that Jena Malone has been cast in the film, and will be playing Robin, Batman's sidekick.

This version of Robin will mostly likely reflect the version in The Dark Knight Returns, the graphic novel from "300" writer Frank Miller that was turned into an animated feature film.

In this version, Robin is Carrie Kelley, a street-smart girl who is recruited by an older Batman to help clean up Gotham City.

There are multiple signs pointing to this rumor being true: Malone has been spotted recently with her hair dyed a bright red, and Ben Affleck's Bat-suit in this movie is heavily influenced by the Frank Miller version.

Warner Bros. has not commented on the rumor. If the studio finds out which extra leaked the information, he or she could face a fine of up to $5 million as all extras on set are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

If true, this would be a big win for Malone, who will likely continue to star in Batman-related films and is also currently set to appear in the two final "Hunger Games" movies.
