Batman and Bieber: Too Weird to Be True?

If you think the uproar over Ben Affleck's casting as Batman was big, imagine the outrage that would explode if Justin Bieber was cast in the "Batman vs. Superman" movie, too. Actually, thanks to a photo that Bieber Instagrammed this week, you don't have to imagine it. The photo, which was most likely a joke, had the internet fuming as soon as it came to light.

In the photo, Bieber poses with what looks like a script for "Batman vs. Superman," and the script's cover page has Bieber's name watermarked on it. The implication, of course, is that Bieber is being considered for a role in the movie. Horror of horrors!

There are indications that the photo is a provocative joke, including the text on the script that says it's based on "Batman: The Dark Knight Falls," a book that writer Zack Snyder has already said will not be the basis of the movie.

It's also unlikely that, after the negative reaction to Affleck's casting, the producers of the movie would consider making a stunt casting move, and including Bieber in the film would be stunt casting to the extreme.

Soon after Bieber posted the photo, over 300,000 of his fans expressed their appreciation by liking the photo, while many thousands of other commenters expressed their dismay and disgust.
