Bam Margera Hospitalized After Kayak Accident

Bam Margera Hospitalized After Kayak Accident Knowing the tragedy the "Jackass" troupe mourned a year ago, it's probably a cause for thanks that this didn't end much worse for Bam Margera.

A Wednesday kayak accident hospitalized MTV's former "Jackass" and "Viva La Bam" star in Los Angeles, Reuters reported today. Margera, 32, tweeted a picture of himself laid up with a note explaining that he needs a hernia surgery following a 100-foot drop. Margera wrote that he was kayaking with pro Steve Fisher in Oregon when he took the spill.

Obviously, this takes him right out of his scheduled Friday night West Chester, Penn. art show displaying his works alongside those of local artist John Hannafin.

In a sobering coincident, June 20 will mark the one-year anniversary of the day Margera's "Jackass" mate Ryan Dunn was killed at age 34. Dunn was killed in an alcohol-related car crash that also killed "Jackass Number Two" production assistant Zachary Hartwell. Dunn's blood-alcohol content was twice the Pennsylvania legal limit, and his vehicle was estimated to be traveling between 132-140 MPH when it crashed. Dunn was especially close with Margera, both being West Chester natives.

More recently, Margera is signed to appear on MTV2's new game show, "Hip Hop Squares," a take on the classic "Hollywood Squares" concept.
