The BAFTAs - British Version of the Oscars - Are Announced
by Tina MusialThe BAFTA - British Academy of Film and Television Arts - Awards nominations were announced this morning.
The British version of the Oscars, the BAFTA Awards are thought to be a more reliable indicator of who potential Academy Awards nominees may be than the Golden Globes.
While there are a few noticeable exceptions (the inclusion of "True Grit" for Best Picture and the noticeable absence of "The Tourist" for starters), many of the awards are similar to the Golden Globes. The Lead Actress section also includes Julianne Moore for her role in "The Kids Are Alright."
