The BAFTA Awards: Who Went Home a Winner?
by Shannon KeirnanThe BAFTA Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) have presented their awards to each deserving winner in a ceremony often considered the British Oscars. Will these wins set, as they often do, a pattern for the approaching Academy Awards?
One big winner that certainly won’t be showing up on Oscar night is Ben Affeck for his extremely well-received “Argo.” Although the film took home the BAFTA award for both Best Film and Best Director, Affleck has notably been “snubbed” this year in the Academy Award nominations.
“Les Miserables” also cleaned up, with Best Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway), Best Production Design, Best Sound, and Best Make Up and Hair.
