'Back to the Future' Nike Shoes with Power Laces Potentially Hitting Stores in 2015

Hoverboards and flying cars are still a work in progress, but that doesn't mean our dreams of a 2015 like the one we saw in "Back to the Future" are dead.
Nike designer Tinker Hatfield announced today at a trade show in Long Beach, CA, that we might see the Nike MAG, complete with power laces, released sometime this year.
The shoes are modeled after the pair seen in "Back to the Future Part II," in which Marty McFly travels to the far-off future year of 2015. There, he encounters a number of futuristic products, including a pair of Nike shoes that lace up automatically.
Nike has already built a prototype of the shoes, and they work, but having a working prototype doesn't mean that mass production is at all close to a possibility. Still, Hatfield noted that his team is working hard to make the shoes available in 2015.
He noted that there are still "11 and a half months left" in the year for them to get them done. Of course, if he really wants to be accurate to the movie, the shoes should be on the market by October of this year, which is when Marty arrived in the DeLorean.
Now, if we can just perfect that hoverboard technology...
