No, Becca Kufrin didn’t steal a move from ex Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s playbook during Monday’s season finale of “The Bachelorette.” She did, however, raise some eyebrows with her final choice.
Before accepting a proposal from Nevada medical sales rep Garrett Yrigoyen, Becca, 28, first bids farewell to fellow sales rep Blake Horstmann of Colorado.
“I’m going with the one who I can’t see myself without,” Becca says. “This love feels like it fits my soul, fits my heart. I’m so happy I pushed through to find what I always wanted.”
Following the controversial “Bachelor” finale in March, in which Arie split from Becca to reunite with runner-up Lauren Burnham, the Minnesota-bred publicist did not want to make another mistake, aware her final decision could crush a man’s heart.
“I have to say goodbye to somebody. I have to break his heart,” shares Becca. “I know this man doesn’t see it coming. I feel so terrible.”
After selecting a ring from jeweler Neil Lane, Blake approaches Becca on proposal day, unaware he will be going home alone.
“I’m anxious, I’m excited. When I propose to her and she says yes, the feeling is going to be so overwhelming,” Blake says.
Before letting Blake get down on one knee, Becca speaks her truth.
“You’ve made me know that I can fall in love again, but through all that, too, I think I was overlooking other relationships,” Becca tells Blake. “There’s somebody else I’m not ready to say goodbye to yet.”
