Awards 'Gossip': CinemaCon to Honor Blake Lively with 'Breakthrough Performer' Award

Awards 'Gossip': CinemaCon to Honor Blake Lively with 'Breakthrough Performer' Award Blake Lively has had one heck of a year. The "Gossip Girl" star finally got some attention thanks to her work on the popular CW show and landed roles in not one, but two big-budget films. After an appearance in the Oscar-nominated "The Town," Lively will appear next in the much-buzzed-about superhero flick "Green Lantern" opposite Ryan Reynolds.

It is this list of accomplishments that made CinemaCon decide to honor Lively with the "Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award" at this year's convention, taking place on March 31st. Mitch Neuhauser, the managing director of CinemaCon, released this statement:

"Blake recently captivated audiences and critics around the world with her stunning turn in 'The Town' and 'Green Lantern' is one of the most anticipated films of the year. We are thrilled to honor such a wonderful young talent."

CinemaCon is an annual convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners. This year's event will take place between March 28th to the 31st at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

We couldn't agree more, CinemaCon! Congrats to Blake, she's definitely earned it.
