Aubrey Plaza Horror Series Gets Pilot at TBS

There's a good chance that Aubrey Plaza's Nightmare Time will be more funny than scary, but the in-development pilot is being categorized as a horror anthology series. TBS has given the go-ahead to a pilot for the proposed series, which will be created by and star Plaza and will feature other celebrity guests.

The premise of the series concerns Plaza's fictional "Nightmare Clinic," where celebrities go to get help with their recurring nightmares. The show will apparently use fictional technology to allow viewers to see into the celebrities' dreams as they undergo treatment. The plan, it seems, is for each episode to explore two different nightmares inside the heads of guests on each episode.

Plaza will produce, write and star in the pilot, and the episode will also be co-written by Darcy Fowler, Kieran Valla, and Seth Kirschner. Kirschner and Fowler will also produce.

Plaza is currently a regular on the Marvel series Legion on FX, and on the big screen, she's recently starred in Dirty Grandpa and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

The TBS order for Nightmare Time is for a pilot only, and there is as of yet no plan to put the series on the network's 2017 schedule.
