Jimmy Bennett, the actor who has claimed he was sexually assaulted by Asia Argento when he was 17, is explaining why he never spoke out about his alleged 2013 encounter with the Italian actress.

Mercury Unveils Asia Argento Even though Mercury has gone direct, it went retrograde in a close conjunction to Asia Argento's natal Venus (Venus rules love, relationships) and square her North Node in SCORPIO♏. This is all significant because communication about a secret relationship has been revealed with....photos. With the North Node being involved this has to do with a huge life lesson for her maybe even past life karma. Argento was dating Anthony Bourdain at the time he committed suicide, in his natal chart Mercury went retrograde on his natal Pluto-Jupiter conjunction. We may in fact hear more about her relationship with Bourdain and how this situation affected their relationship. "I did not initially speak out about my story because I chose to handle it in private with the person who wronged me," Bennett said Wednesday afternoon in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "My trauma resurfaced as she came out as a victim herself. I have not made a public statement in the past days and hours because I was ashamed and afraid to be part of the public narrative."

The statement comes days after The New York Times first published a report accusing Argento of secretly paying off Bennett, a former child actor who co-starred in one of her films, after he accused her of sexually assaulting him when she was 37. Argento allegedly paid off Bennett in November 2017, the month after she had accused Harvey Weinstein of sexually assaulting her in the bombshell New Yorker report that was published on Oct. 10. Argento was one of the first to accuse Weinstein and became a leading voice in the #MeToo movement.

"I was underage when the event took place," continued Bennett, now 22, in his statement, "and I tried to seek justice in a way that made sense to me at the time because I was not ready to deal with the ramifications of my story becoming public. At the time I believed there was still a stigma to being in the situation as a male in our society. I didn't think that people would understand the event that took place from the eyes of a teenage boy."
