Is Ashley Judd Preparing to Run For Senate?

Is Ashley Judd Preparing to Run For Senate? Is "Missing" actress Ashley Judd planning to run for U.S. Senate?

Close sources to the actress say yes… but Judd isn’t admitting anything just yet.

The 44-year-old reportedly told “key advisors and political figures that she is planning to announce her candidacy” in the spring, “around Derby” (early May).

However, Judd, when reached for questioning, didn’t seem so open.

“I am not sure who is saying this stuff, but it is not I… We told everyone who called us yesterday these stories are fabrications.”

Yet she would not give a direct denial to the question of whether or not she has decided to run.

“I know she knows she has to declare soon,” said one source, “a highly placed elected official.”

"She could always change her mind,” he clarified. “I changed my mind twice before I finally declared. But as of now it is a done deal.”

If she is interested in running, Judd will have to declare her candidacy soon. She currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, but if she plans to represent Kentucky as all signs seem to say, she will have to establish a residency in the state by November of this year to get in under the wire of being a resident for at least a year before Election Day. Judd is a Kentucky native and most of her family lives in the state. It is also where she attended college.

The question of Judd’s possible declaration to run was also in the media recently when Judd announced her divorce from racecar driver Dario Franchitti.

So will she or won’t she? Only time will tell, because right now, Judd won’t.
