'Arrested Development' Gets a Release Date!
by Shannon Keirnan“Arrested Development” fans, if you don’t already have a Netflix account, now is the time to sign up—because Sunday, May 26th marks the return of the much-loved show with a brand-new season four.
All 15 episodes will release at once, at 12:01 a.m. PT (in case you needed specifics).
Show creator Mitch Hurwitz humbly says that his “simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence."
This season will feature your usual wacky tales from the Bluth family, as well as great guest stars like Ben Stiller, Seth Rogen, Kristin Wiig, Conan O’Brien, Isla Fisher, and John Slattery.
Ron Howard will also return to man the voice-over work.
"One of the very last lines in the show was when [I say in voice-over], 'I don't think ['Arrested Development'] is a TV show; maybe it's a movie," Howard has said."So in the new season, we create a heightened version of Imagine Entertainment."
Yes, plans for a film version of the show are also in the works.
"There is a bigger story out there that does exist,” Hurwitz has explained.
Howard had nothing but exciting things to say about the upcoming season:
"It's been away for a while, and part of the fun that Mitch has been mining and exploiting is, what's new to discover about these people? What's delightfully unchanged? He and the writing staff and the actors have a fantastic sense of that. They're pretty brazen, pretty bold and fearless. That's what made the show into something that fans really kept alive."
Sounds promising. Will you tune in?
