Will Arnett to Team Up with Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph in New NBC Sitcom For those who got a kick out of seeing Will Arnett play a "house husband" in last week's episode of "30 Rock," prepare to get your kicks on a weekly basis.

Arnett has joined on the for untitled Christina Applegate-starring sitcom created by Emily Spivey, as reported on Deadline. In the NBC show, Applegate plays a working mother whose stay-at-home husband (Arnett) runs things there, and whose parents aren't terribly fond of the whole set-up. Lorne Michaels produces, and Maya Rudolph will also star on the show.

Arnett had apparently planned to sit it out this year when pilots came a-callin', but was won over by the script. His desire to take a breather is understandable.

Since "Arrested Development," the show that made his name, went off the air, he's been a part of four new series, all of which were cancelled before their first season was up, and none of the movies he starred in went anywhere.

He has seen success in small guest roles on other NBC shows ("30 Rock," "Parks and Recreation"), and will appear on the season finale of "The Office." Perhaps NBC and former "SNL" writers (Spivey came from "SNL," as did many of the "Parks and Rec" and "30 Rock" writers) have the secret formula.

Arnett's a very talented guy, but he seems to have a limited range, which makes it hard to get on board a new series without the audience automatically saying, "It's GOB!" I'll be intrigued to see what he does with this new character - the talent behind the show warrants at least a trial period.
