Anna Paquin Talks Bisexuality, 'True Blood' Love in New Interview

Anna Paquin Talks Bisexuality, 'True Blood' Love in New Interview When Anna Paquin, aka Sookie Stackhouse from "True Blood," opened up about being bisexual back in 2010, it was surprising to many people.

Paquin is currently married to her co-star Stephen Moyer (aka Bill Compton) and had just gotten engaged when she came out to the public. The announcement was a shock to many of her co-stars and industry colleagues, who reportedly had no idea she was coming out.

Not everyone was supportive, but Paquin is dead-set on changing that, according to a new interview with V Magazine.

"My sexuality is something I'm completely comfortable with and open about. There's a lot of prejudice toward us but the more people talk about it, the less of a big deal it will be. And that will be better for everyone," said Paquin.

Of course, as Sookie Stackhouse, Paquin's "True Blood" character has a lot of experience working on acceptance and encountering diversity in all its ever-shifting forms.

In the photos accompanying the story (and in line with the issue's transformation theme), Paquin transforms herself into an almost unrecognizable Marilyn Monroe-like platinum blonde in one shot, and a vampy (no pun intended) Marlene Dietrich in the next.

The rest of the V interview focuses on Paquin's relationship with Moyer.

"There’s probably something wrong with me, but I find it amusing to watch these men and women fawn all over him. It’s not like anyone’s really trying to do anything inappropriate. They just want him to hug them... or bite them."

Paquin announced her bisexuality back in 2010, in a surprising PSA announcement for the "Give a Damn" campaign, which is part of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund.

"I'm Anna Paquin. I'm bisexual and I give a damn," she says in the ad, and goes on to warn viewers of the growing problem of intolerance. "One hate crime is committed approximately every hour of every day in this country."
