Amy Schumer's Disney Princess Sketch Shows Horrifying Historical Accuracy
by Andy Neuenschwander
With the craze associated with Disney's "Frozen" and their other princess movies, many young girls want to be princesses themselves. Amy Schumer is here to tell you why that's a bad goal to have.
In this hilarious sketch from the latest "Inside Amy Schumer" episode, the comedian plays a Disney-style princess who has just raised from rags to riches and sings about how wonderful it is to be a princess and live in a castle. But when her royal butler (played by Tim Gunn) lays some reality on her, things get dark.
First, she finds that she has to marry a prince of someone else's choosing, who turns out to be her own cousin. Then Gunn explains that "incubating a prince is literally your only role," a harsh truth that applies even to the Kate Middletons of the world.
To top it all off, there's always some kind of pesky peasant rebellion that makes you lose your head...and we don't mean that metaphorically.
