'American Idol' Winner Phillip Phillips' Pawn Shop Gets Burglarized

'American Idol' Winner Phillip Phillips' Pawn Shop Gets Burglarized Here's a nomination for Jerks of the Week: a group of burglars broke into the pawn shop that belongs to "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips' family.

I know what you're thinking: "he just won 'American Idol,' he's fine." That may be true, but what makes the burglars especially despicable is when they chose to break into the place.

Phillips is currently in California recovering from his kidney surgery that he was putting off so that he could finish the "Idol" competition without interruption. His family is out there with him, supporting him in his recovery... and clearly the burglars had a good idea that they wouldn't be around the shop.

According to TMZ, the burglars used a backhoe to break down the back door (and part of the wall) of the little pawn shop in Georgia. Once inside, they stole about $4,000 worth of items, including guns, TVs, collectibles and jewelry.

Of course, Phillips is likely to be a millionaire pretty soon, so he and his family don't have to worry too much. But still, breaking into a pawn shop while a guy is recovering from surgery? That's pretty low, man. Pretty low.
