'American Idol': Watch the Best Auditions from St. Louis

'American Idol': Watch the Best Auditions from St. Louis For the last day of auditions, "American Idol" landed in St. Louis, the city where they discovered Carrie Underwood just a few years ago. Could it be that we saw this year's Idol in the St. Louis auditions? Quite possibly: the talent there was especially impressive.

There was Johnny Keyser, who was deemed very attractive by JLo and can definitely sing. Put those two qualities together and you have yourself a potential Idol. The producers even tried to give him a heart-warming backstory to help him along, but ultimately he just sort of looked like a white kid who lives on a lake. Not a tough life.

Rachelle Lamb is another one of those "he held me back" stories, but her country twang is perfectly suited for "Idol" if last year's final between Scotty and Lauren is any indication.

In terms of backstory, Ethan tugged at the heartstrings with the story of his dad, who had to go to rehab. After a nicely sung audition, Ethan had a tearful phone conversation with his father, which of course the "Idol" camera crew caught on tape.

But the one that wowed the judges the most was Lauren Gray. You can tell she wowed the producers as well, since she closed out the episode. With her unique style and tone, she could be this year's Haley Reinhart.
