'American Idol' Season 11, Episode 32 Recap - Who Went Home from the Top 6? A quote from Freddie Mercury about theatricality leads off the show, which is ironic considering most of the performances this year have been a lot of standing center stage and just singing the song. The closest we got to theatricality was Reed Grimm, and he was sent home faster than the time it takes for one of his mood swings.

Seacrest starts in the audience at the top of the show and shakes the hands of a few girls down the line, but then skips over the last girl, who then shrugs and rolls her eyes as if to say "well then, f*ck you Seacrest."

Ever since last night's interviews about the contestants, I'm hyper sensitive about how everyone reacts to Elise, who by their interviews you would assume is the most annoying person in the world. She's sitting apart from everyone else on the couches, but that may just be placement. Who knows.

The first performance of the night goes to The Queen Extravaganza, who is apparently the official touring Queen tribute band. Big surprise, they're a lot better at doing Queen than the contestants are. They sing "Somebody to Love," which I was surprised that we didn't hear last night.

The poor contestants had to go on TMZ, where they are properly humiliated. Elise addresses the fact that she always looks mad with them. They have no response.

Casey Abrams, who appears to be permanently haunting this stage or something, is there to help introduce last year's Stefano Langone, who performs and is still awful.

Katy Perry provides the final performance of the evening, with her military-inspired "Part of Me." She lowers in from the ceiling with a net of crates, presumably full of MRE rations.

Results:

Jessica and Elise were the first up: Jimmy hated "Bohemian Rhapsody" but loved "Dance with My Father Again." As for Elise, Jimmy hated both song options, calling the Queen song a bit clubby, and the Hendrix song unable to stand on its own without the guitar and everything. Jessica was safe, and Elise was in the bottom three. Duh.

Dynamic duo Hollie and Joshua are up next. Jimmy actually enjoyed "Save Me," and enjoyed "The Climb" a little more from Hollie. As for Joshua, Jimmy appreciated the crossover appeal of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and was moved by his India.Arie song. Joshua was safe, and Hollie was in the bottom three. Also duh.

Skylar and Phillip followed: Jimmy enjoyed her rendition of "The Show Must Go On," but found "Tattoos On This Town" to be "self-indulgent." Jimmy thinks that Phillip is having a "rough time," and references Casey and Jack Black's "Fat Bottomed Girls" as the proper way to do it. He also found the Dave Matthews song to be a mistake. He also says that when the judges agree all the time, he falls asleep. FINALLY somebody on this show said it. In a surprise, though, Phillip was safe while Skylar was sent home. Well, semi-surprise: Phillip has been riding his looks for a while now.

So that left just Hollie and Elise, which of course meant that Elise was the one to go home. The producers focus on her in split screen for a minute during her farewell video before realizing that she isn't going to show any emotion whatsoever. She sends herself off with a reprise of the Def Leppard, and Jennifer makes a face. She might be drunk.

Was it fair? Maybe not. But it was a long time coming. Had this been "The Voice," Elise probably would have fared much, much better.

Eliminated: Elise Testone
