Liv Tyler Becomes 'American Idol' Fan, Chats About Dad's Bizarre Texts

New “American Idol” judge and Aerosmith superstar Steven Tyler has been rocking the singing reality TV show since the premiere of season 10. Many viewers loved his unpredictability, wackiness and quirky comments like, “Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a child?”

Tyler  throws one-liners from out of nowhere and is quick in turning down contestants with no voice and star quality. Tyler’s daughter, actress Liv Tyler told Access Hollywood in a brief interview at the Sundance Film Festival that her dad is just naturally funny.

Liv said, “Yeah, he’s very funny. He’s really good at the weird sayings that just come out of his mouth out of nowhere all the time.”

According to hLiv, her dad’s “Tylerisms” can get lost in translation.

She joked, “Trying to translate his texts is really funny, I’m like, ‘Whoa!’… and all in capital letters, but I understand exactly what he’s talking about. It’s funny.”

The actress also revealed that she has never been a big fan of “American Idol,” but she finds the show interesting and exciting, and not just because of Steven Tyler’s wacky comments.The actress says she finds the entire show entertaining..

“I was so excited. I’ve never really watched ‘American Idol’ – I had seen it once or twice. I just watched with my girlfriends at home the other night and I had goose bumps for an hour-and-a-half and laughed and loved it!”

“I thought it was really special. I think they hit something amazing with the combination of judges that they’ve got. “I’m hooked, Yeah, I am,” she added.
