'American Horror Story' Promo #5: Shades of 'The Exorcist'

Another "American Horror Story" promo! This marks the fifth one that has been released in the past five days. No idea how many they plan on releasing (five might be the limit, in fact), so let's enjoy them while we can.

Because they're just that awesome.

This fifth promo gives a bit of a nod to "The Exorcist," which is to say that it's creepy as all hell. Our masked nun is back, walking up a dark staircase. She pauses, as if she hears a noise, then keeps walking. What she doesn't know is that there's someone—or someTHING—crawling along the underside of the stairway.

Actually, more crabwalking than crawling. You know, in that horrifyingly unnatural way that possessed people do.

Thankfully there aren't any big sound stings or scary crash-zooms in this one... it's actually one of the quieter promos of the bunch. That doesn't make it any less scary, though: after all, the blue coat and body bucket promos were pretty quiet too, but still unsettling.

I mean, I'll certainly never walk up the stairs the same way again.

As of now, there's still no official premiere date for the show (just "October"), so hopefully we'll see at least one more of these that will announce the date. In the meantime, check out the "Ascend" promo for "American Horror Story" below:
