'American Horror Story' Finale: What the Heck Will Happen in Season Two?!

'American Horror Story' Finale: What the Heck Will Happen in Season Two?! CAUTION: major SPOILERS ahead! If you haven't seen the finale of "American Horror Story," you might want to hold off on reading this for now...

For those of you who did see it: wow, right? Turns out when Ryan Murphy wants to do a horror TV show, he wants to do it right... and that involves murdering every character in classic horror style.

Yes, the season one finale of "American Horror Story ended with the entire Harmon family (played by Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Taissa Farmiga) biting the proverbial bullet and joining the rest of the spirits haunting that creepy house. That's all well and good and spooky and stuff, but what about season two? After all, the season finale drew in more than 3 million viewers, so FX will want to keep this show running.

As it turns out, the plan is to go the "Paranormal Activity" route with the show. That is to say, next season will involve a similar premise of a family moving into a haunted house, but it will be a new house, with new characters. In fact, Murphy said that each season of the show from here on in will take on new characters and locations and "will have a beginning, middle and an end."

What, then, will happen to McDermott, Britton and the other actors we saw this season? Hopefully, we will see them again, but in different roles. "There will be some new and familiar faces, playing new characters and new monsters," said Murphy. "It’s a really cool and interesting way to tell a horror show: every season being what an American horror is."

Murphy did not go into detail about which actors would be back, but you would have to assume he would want to hang on to the SAG-nominated and Golden Globe-nominated Jessica Lange.

Pretty neat, huh? I like the idea of an anthology show like this: it's like "The Twilight Zone," only instead of one episode of horror, it's a whole season. And it certainly solves the problem of having to keep your characters alive!
