Amber Tamblyn Joins 'Two and a Half Men' Cast

Amber Tamblyn Joins 'Two and a Half Men' Cast If fans of "Two and a Half Men" have been wondering who will replace half-man Angus T. Jones next season, they got a possible answer last week at the Television Critics Association press tour, when the show's executive producer announced that Amber Tamblyn will be joining the cast, at least temporarily.

Jones made headlines last year when he referred to the show as "filth" in an interview. Subsequently, he was not asked to return for the show's 11th season, leaving a hole in the cast, which currently includes Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher himself replaced Charlie Sheen after that actor's departure during the eighth season.

Tamblyn, whose credits include the title role in "Joan of Arcadia" and a recurring role on "House," will play the daughter of Sheen's character on five episodes in the upcoming season, and negotiations are apparently underway that could give Tamblyn a regular role. The character's angle will apparently be that she is much like her crude-humored, womanizing father (she is a lesbian), and she'll arrive on the doorstep of the two remaining men hoping to become a permanent resident in their home. Exec producer Chuck Lorre thinks that the character will bring something fresh to the show.

"I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective," he said. "The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."
