Is Amanda Bynes Tweeting from a Secret Account?
by Andy NeuenschwanderHas Amanda Bynes been hiding on Twitter all this time?
After news broke of Bynes' recent arrest for a suspected DUI, people started noticing a Twitter user with the handle @PersianLa27 responding to almost any mention of Bynes on the social media site.
"Don't let my parents lie to you or speak for me. Im 28 years old and retired!" read one tweet. Another closely followed claiming Bynes' innocence: "I don't abuse drugs. Im not crazy. I never quit school. Apparently its illegal to take scripts from your OWN doctor."
Originally, the name on the Twitter account was "Ashley," but that has since been changed to "✡ Amanda."
One of two things could be happening: Either someone is doing a really excellent job of impersonating mid-meltdown Bynes, or Bynes herself has been tweeting from this account all along after her official account was sanitized.
Of the two, it seems that the former is more likely. The tweets go back to July, but later tweets indicate that there were more before then that were deleted. All of them are distinctly and consistently in Bynes' voice, according to the way she was tweeting on her other account prior to entering a rehab program.
In any case, the tweets range between showing a desire to change ("Was close to scoring an interview with one of my favorite mags but they want details from the past. Sorry, I don't live there anymore.") and saying erratic or inflammatory things, such as calling Joan Rivers the C-word after her death or calling Wendy Williams a "tranny" in response to Williams' tweet about Bynes' arrest.
The account even references rumors that Bynes was kicked out of fashion school this past week for cheating on tests and other offenses.
There are no selfies or other videos or images of Bynes other than photos tweeted by others that the account has retweeted, so at the very least, Bynes is maintaining the benefit of the doubt with the account.
