Alleged 'The Dark Knight Rises' Teaser Posted To YouTube; Poster Claims Showing With 'Green Lantern'

There are good reasons to be dubious about this, but if this were to prove genuine, it would be one of more recent great surprises from a major studio.

The official line has been that the first trailer heralding the coming of “The Dark Knight Rises” to finish off Christopher Nolan’s run as director of Warner Bros.’ Batman franchise will debut with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” on July 15.

However, something curious arrived on YouTube this weekend, following the arrival in theaters of Warner Bros.’ “Green Lantern”: a brief, text-only trailer that the poster claims ran before the Ryan Reynolds superhero film and is the first teaser for “The Dark Knight Rises.”

I personally consider it questionable that a surprise trailer debut like this could be kept under wraps, but I give the poster credit if it’s a hoax: it’s just good enough to actually plant a seed of doubt, and that’s a lot better than could be said for most fan-made trailers that show up online. The poster shot the alleged trailer with what looks like a cell phone cam, so it's shaky at best.

Have a peek.
