All You Need Is 'Glee': The New Directions Take on the Beatles
by EGThe upcoming season of "Glee" will present some changes—foremost among them the loss of Cory Monteith—that will no doubt reverberate throughout the season. It all gets started, though, with the two-part tribute to the Beatles that begins with the season premiere on Sept. 24. Yesterday, Columbia Records revealed details about the episodes' soundtrack and plot lines.
In the first of the two episodes, titled "Love, Love, Love," Blaine and Kurt contemplate their future together, and Rachel encounters a surprise twist on her career path in NYC. In the second episode, called "Tina in the Sky with Diamonds" and scheduled to air on Oct. 3, the students of McKinley High vote for prom king and queen, and in NYC, Rachel and Santana take jobs at a diner.
The soundtrack for the two episodes, which will be released by Columbia on Sept. 22, will include 14 familiar Beatles songs, including "Help," "Yesterday," "Drive My Car," "All You Need Is Love," "I Saw Her Standing There," "Hey Jude" and "Let It Be."
The Oct. 3 episode will also feature the first guest appearance on the show by Demi Lovato, who will be playing Santana's love interest in at least six episodes during the season.
