All Six 'Star Wars' Movies Get a 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Remix
by Andy NeuenschwanderI'm hooked on a feeling, and I think that feeling is the force?
When the original "Star Wars" trilogy came out in the late 1970's and early 80's, movie trailers had a very particular style. Even in the years since the prequel trilogy was released, movie trailers have adopted a whole new approach to drawing in viewers.
Take, for example, the much-buzzed-about "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer from Marvel. The trailer takes a lighthearted approach to what will probably still be a high-stakes, action-heavy movie. Some dramatic editing and a good song cue or two make it the kind of trailer that makes you say, "I want to see THAT!"
This past week, the Internet got the answer to the question it didn't even know it needed to ask: What would happen if you re-cut the "Star Wars" movies into a "Guardians"-style trailer?
The first installment was a terrific job featuring the original "Star Wars" movies, and you'd be surprised at how well it turned out. Really, all you need is some editing and music to put lines in a whole different context.
Since that video blew up, the creator of the trailer (YouTuber Ross Thompson, a.k.a. The Usual Suspect) put together another one for the "Star Wars" prequel movies!
I know, I know, the prequels weren't anywhere near as good as the original movies. But with this re-edit, you might end up thinking to yourself, "Hey, I should give those another shot. That song is catchy."
