Alec Baldwin to Star in Woody Allen's Next Film, Jesse Eisenberg in Talks

Alec Baldwin to Star in Woody Allen's Next Film, Jesse Eisenberg in Talks "30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin has said that he may quit acting soon (he also said that he would be done with "30 Rock" in 2012). But when a legendary director like Woody Allen wants you for his newest film, you put your retirement plans on hold.

Deadline reports that Baldwin has committed to Allen's next film, which will be a comedy set in Rome. A title for the film has not been revealed yet, and the movie is still in its early stages. However, the cast is already being put together, so things should be at least somewhat far along.

Rumor has it that "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg might be in line for a leading role in the movie as well. Eisenberg has a comedic style that lives in the awkward, fumbling realm (and I mean that in a good way), so he's an actor that was born to star in a Woody Allen film.

That leaves the question, who will the (undoubtedly beautiful) female lead be? Allen has a history of going after some of the most stunning leading ladies in Hollywood, and has worked with Scarlett Johansson before in multiple films.

For now, Baldwin is the only one committed, and this will mark the first time he and Allen have worked together since 1990 in the comedy "Alice." Baldwin still has one more season of "30 Rock" left (at the least) and this and his other film project "Rock of Ages" will be shot in the off-season. So, there's no worry of any of this interrupting Baldwin's appearances on the NBC show.
