Psych! Alec Baldwin Pulls a 180, Says He Wants 'Five More Seasons' of '30 Rock'

Psych! Alec Baldwin Pulls a 180, Says He Wants 'Five More Seasons' of '30 Rock' It's only been one day since Alec Baldwin announced the end of "30 Rock" to the world in the form of a comment to New York Magazine, yet the Emmy-winning actor has already done an about-face.

In a blog written by Baldwin on Huffington Post, the actor noted: "I hope '30 Rock' goes on forever. Or at least as long as everyone involved desires."

Baldwin qualified that statement, however, by saying that his days on network TV "may be numbered." So it seems that Baldwin is still planning on leaving "30 Rock" in 2012 when his contract expires, and he just assumed in his original comment that the show would end if he left.

Which, honestly, isn't a bad assumption. Baldwin has been nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in the Emmys the last four years in a row, and has won twice. The same goes for the Golden Globes, and at the SAG Awards, Baldwin has won every single year since 2006.

But Baldwin believes that the show could go on without him: "Next year hopefully won't be the last. Kenneth can run the network. Jenna will get her own talk show. Tracy will become Mayor of New York. Then resign to go raise exotic reptiles. And Lemon will go do.... just about anything she sets her mind to," Baldwin wrote.

Then again, with Tina Fey pregnant with her second child, will production continue past 2012? That remains to be seen. But Baldwin, despite his plans to leave, wishes the show well.

"Here's to five more seasons," he wrote.
