Awkward Video: Is Robert Pattinson Really Okay? Really? Is He Sure?
by Shannon KeirnanIn a kind of uncomfortable short interview with Showbiz Tonight, Robert Pattison opens up briefly, if one can even say that much, about how he has been doing since the split from “Twilight” co-star and ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
Although Pattinson and “Cosmopolis” director David Cronenberg are more than obviously there to promote their new movie (If the big title in the background is any indication. Also the presence of David Cronenberg), the interviewer had other ideas, and brings up the breakup.
So, in his own words, is Pattinson okay? Is he all right? Is he fine? Honestly? Truly? You can tell us.
“Yup.”
But let’s not let it go. Let’s bring up the drinking rumors, the “wallowing in misery.” Because everyone who has been cheated on likes to know people assume they’re wallowing. Really good for the healing process.
Pattinson, at this, glances rather nervously at Cronenberg before trailing off. The director then tries to interject, choosing a vague but diplomatic response that says absolutely nothing about Pattinson’s alleged wild nights of self consolation.
That’s a good wingman, Cronenberg. I see what you did there.
What the interviewer probably doesn’t realize is that the white mug Pattinson keeps drinking nervously from is pure Russian vodka.
Anyway, apparently making Pattinson feel awkward once doesn’t cut it, or maybe she hasn’t quite pissed off Cronenberg by not talking about his movie enough, so the interviewer tries again.
Guys, Pattinson thinks all of the scrutiny is “weird.” You heard it. From his own lips. And is he okay? Yeah, still yup.
The dismissive universal response that means “quit asking.”
Okay, we get it. Pattinson’s okay. Actually, he looks pretty darn okay. He looks…good. Tan, well-rested. Kinda better than usual. He’s even almost perky, and a little charming, as he laughs off the questions.
But maybe that’s just all the liquor in the cup.
