Adult Swim Renews Conan O'Brien's 'Eagleheart'

Adult Swim Renews Conan O'Brien's 'Eagleheart' Here's a word of advice to all of the soap operas being cancelled: maybe you should try switching to a 15-minute format. It works for "Eagleheart."

The wacky 15-minute comedy series "Eagleheart" has been renewed by Adult Swim for a second season. The show is one of Adult Swim's few live-action shows, and is produced by Conan O'Brien (among a list of others).

"Eagleheart" follows the adventures of U.S. Marshal Chris Monsanto who, along with his partners Brett (Brett Gelman) and Susie (Maria Thayer), busts all kinds of criminals...usually very violently. The show is essentially a spoof of "Walker, Texas Ranger" but takes the spoofing to an incredibly over-the-top level. The result is a show that is surprisingly hilarious, self-aware, and firmly rooted in the alternative comedy scene.

The show airs on Thursdays at midnight (11:59 on Thursday for those who are picky about when the day changes), runs until 12:15, and has been successful in that odd time slot. It was #1 among males ages 18-34 and 18-39 in that time slot (beating various talk shows) and, according to Deadline, was the #1 cable sitcom among the same demos.
