Adele to Perform 'Skyfall' at Oscars--James Bonds to Attend?

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has announced that singer Adele, 24, will be performing her Oscar-nominated song Skyfall at the upcoming 85th annual Academy Awards.

It will be Adele’s first live performance of the song, and her first performance in the United States since the Grammy Awards last year.

The singer took time off from the stage after becoming pregnant with boyfriend Simon Konecki. The two welcomed a son, reportedly named Angelo James, in October, and have been extremely secretive about introducing him to the world, referring to him only as “Little Peanut.”

Adele and producer Paul Epworth are nominated for best original song for “Skyfall,” which appeared on the latest James Bond thriller by the same name.

The Oscars will also present a tribute to the fictional 007 to mark the 50th anniversary of the man who likes his martinis shaken, not… well, you know.

There’s even a rumor that all six actors who played Bond—Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig—will be appearing in the tribute.

"It's an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again," Adele said.

"It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!"

Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are excited to have the British songbird on stage.

"We have enormous respect for Adele's unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer. She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of Skyfall will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching at the Dolby Theatre and on television screens around the world,” the producers said.
