Adele Confirms Grammy Comeback Performance

Adele Grammy Performance It couldn't get more apropos.

Former Best New Artist Grammy-winner Adele announced Tuesday morning that she'll mark her return from major throat surgery with a live Feb. 12 performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards, reports Entertainment Weekly. She'll then follow it up just over a week later with a previously scheduled Feb. 21 live Brit Awards performance.

"I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's Grammy Awards," Adele said via press release. "It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."

The 23-year-old, smoky-voiced British chanteuse - whose three hit singles earned her six more Grammy nods a year after her Best New Artist win, including Record of the Year for "Rolling In The Deep" and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Someone Like You" - hasn't taken the stage since undergoing vocal cord laser microsurgery this past November in the U.S. that threatened her singing career. The surgery followed the October cancelation of two planned tours after she developed a vocal cord hemorrhage.

The U.K. Daily Mail posted pictures early this past December giving the impression Adele had lost considerable weight while recovering but looking in good spirits.

The show, hosted this year by LL Cool J, will boast a total of 19 planned performances, including in addition to Adele, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Coldplay, Rihanna, and others.
