Will Addison Return to 'Grey's Anatomy?'
by Shannon KeirnanWill we be seeing more of Addison Montgomery in the near future?
Even though Kate Walsh is leaving her “Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off “Private Practice” after season six, she says she’s open to returning as a guest star on the show that got her career really going.
“That’s always a possibility,” she mentioned at the Fig & Olive pre-Emmy party in West Hollywood. “It’s really up to Shonda [Rhimes].”
We all remember that moment when she stepped on-screen to throw a wrench in the budding romance between Meredith and Derek, right? So would Rhimes bring her back?
And, more importantly, would Walsh be interested in making a reappearance if she did get invited?
“Of course,” she said. “I’m open to anything. I’m ready for my next chapter, but never close the door.”
Interesting. What do you think about Addy popping back onto “Grey’s?” Good idea or terrible? Might throw in some much-needed drama—we’re certainly not seeing enough of that on the show lately…
So what will Walsh be doing with all of her glorious free time, since she’ll no longer have “Private Practice” on her plate?
“I’m going to rest,” the 44-year-old announced. “I’m going to travel and work hopefully on other stuff and spend time with my family and friends.”
Sounds just about right, Walsh. Good on you!
Walsh announced her exit from “Private Practice” in June on Bethenny Frankel’s talk show, “Bethenny.”
"It's been an incredible journey and an amazing ride and I'm hugely, hugely grateful," she said of working on the show. "It's bittersweet. It's a huge chapter of my life. It's been eight years."
