Should it be considered a bad sign that I only get excited about presidential elections anymore because of the fantastic satire opportunities? Maybe. Still, any port in a storm. About 12 hours after appearing as disinterested amid a presidential debate as any two candidates in years, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama received the "Songify" treatment and suddenly, everything dull is awesome again.

Y'know, this got ugly fast, for a story involving two people who claimed there were no issues between them. "American Idol" judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have reportedly gotten so ugly with each other, that Carey claims Minaj made an off-the-handle shooting threat.

The Republican presidential candidate made a talking point Wednesday of eliminating federal public-broadcasting subsidies if he's elected president this November....no matter how much he "loves Big Bird." Thursday, Sesame Workshop was not only fielding some big-time television appearance requests, but politely staying out of Romney's agenda.
