After several weekends of having to stay at home, kids finally got something new to see at the movie theater this weekend. The pent-up demand for a new family film propelled "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" to winning performance at the box office.

Now that "Breaking Bad" is finally over, viewers may be able to concentrate on TV that potentially has a future. That would be good news for a few new series that have, so far, not drawn many viewers and are in danger of cancellation.

While movie audiences this summer didn't seem to care much for expensive action films, they loved animated movies with the number "2" in their titles. Sony Pictures hopes that the trend holds up as it introduces "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2."

So far, so good for "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," the small-screen tie-in with the blockbuster film "The Avengers." The series' debut episode outperformed its competition on Tuesday night, living up to the hype that had preceded its premiere.

We knew we couldn't count on Iron Man to show up, but it sure was good to see Agent Coulson's smiling face in the first episode of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." In the series premiere, Coulson assembled his team of agents and set them on a quest to uncover a sinister new threat.
