Production on the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey isn't having nearly as much trouble getting started as its predecessor did. The first film struggled to get actors to fill its principal roles, but the sequel has quickly secured a big name to play a supporting role.

It's a story about the grumpy captain of a technologically advanced submarine, and it contains the opportunity for loads of special effects. Sounds like the perfect summer blockbuster project, and Bryan Singer's on it.

For only the second time this year, a new movie took the top spot at the box office for the weekend. It was a good weekend to be a panda, but not such a good weekend to be Chris Pine or Marlon Wayans.
