'50 Shades' of... What??
by Shannon Keirnan50 Shades of Grey has been an S & M phenomenon sweeping the literary world, and those love-starved housewives (and everyone else in the general female population) who loved the book can’t wait for a movie release.
And they’re in luck! Talks are in the work. Will “Drive” star Ryan Gosling take the role of sexy Christian Grey? Or will Justin Beiber be stepping in, whip in hand (oh, please, no.)?
What else can we look forward to?
How about Fifty Shades of Chicken, a parody in a cookbook?
Huh?
The book comes from publisher Clarkson Potter, and is written by “FL Fowler.”
Sounds legit.
The author explains, “Like so many others, Fifty Shades of Grey resonated for me. It evoked something I’d never been able to express Then one day as I was tying up the ankles of a chicken for roasting, I realized why some of the scenes in the book were so strikingly familiar. It turns out I’ve been practicing BDSM for years—with poultry.”
“There’s a bit of Christian and Anastasia Steele in every dish,” Fowler promises. The author is choosing, for the moment, to stay anonymous (you mean that’s NOT her real name??)
“I’ve been developing recipes for years. But this is the first time I’ve ever delved into this dark, forbidden side of poultry preparation. And when it comes to sexing up a family dinner, a little privacy can be a good thing.”
So what kind of meals can we expect?
How about “Dripping thighs?”
“Mustard-spanked chicken?” Directions include a mixture of spices, which you “slap” onto the chicken, and refrigerate it “so it can recover.”
Expect directions to read as such, with a lot of “thrusting,” “cavities,” “breasts,” and “drizzling.”
Sounds delicious.
