50 Cent's Legal Troubles Keep Getting More Complicated

Rapper/producer 50 Cent has been publicly feuding with the Starz network over the series Power, which 50 Cent produces. But the rapper has a lot more problems on his plate these days than the series' dwindling ratings. First of all, a court has ruled that he must pay millions in damages to a woman whose sex tape he posted online without permission. He might try to fight that decision by arguing that he has no money to pay, given that he filed for bankruptcy two years ago. That situation is mess, too, with allegations that the rapper's management botched the filing and cost him a lot of money in taxes. All in all, 50 Cent has some serious stuff to deal with.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is suing his business managers for allegedly botching his bankruptcy, costing him an extra $200,000 in taxes and claiming that they illegally helped themselves to $90,000 of his money.

On Tuesday night, the rapper filed legal papers in Connecticut Bankruptcy Court saying California-based GSO Business Management LLC “failed to counsel” him fully about his 2015 bankruptcy filing, which came days after a jury ruled that the hip-hop artist must pay $5 million to a woman suing over a sex tape that was posted without her permission.

The papers say that the move meant the rapper was forced to fork over more in taxes.

It is also alleged that GSO “improperly helped themselves to approximately $90,000 of Jackson’s money and paid itself . . . without prior . . . approval.”

50 Cent has to pay a Florida woman over $5 million for posting her private sex video online as part of his rap beef with rival Rick Ross.

The whopping verdict came down after the four-woman, two-man jury deliberated for only an hour and ten minutes toward the end of a five-week trial Friday.

Now Jackson may have to appear in court next week with his net worth statement in hand so the jury can decide on additional, punitive damages.
