'2 Broke Girls' Season 3, Episode 12: 'And the French Kiss' Recap

Caroline and Max are getting irritiated that their walk-up window is becoming a freak show. Caroline puts down her foot when a guy tries to pay for a cupcake with a poem.

Deke meets Max at the diner to discuss their pastry school homework, but Caroline interrupts to tell Max that Chef Nicolas has been texting her. Deke informs her that Chef is interested.

Han interrupts Max's conversation, and Deke invites her to continue it the next evening over drinks. Caroline also has an invitiation from Chef to get a drink with him after dinner the next day. Caroline realizes that "after dinner" may be a booty call, and begs Max to hang out with them.

The three hang out at the bar, Deke discussing his pastry homework while Caroline texts Chef and works out a signal to get her out of the situation before she goes too far with Nicolas.

Flash forward to Caroline and Nicolas making out, while Max and Deke watch on in horror. Max, uncomfortable, decides to leave, since Caroline is clearly not sticking to her "no sex" rule. Deke offers to make out, comedy-style, to try and distract them. He licks Max's face, which does catch Caroline's eye, but doesn't stop them for long.

Just as Max is determined to leave for real, Caroline winks, the signal to get her away from Chef before she goes too far. Max intervenes and the two rush out, leaving Deke alone with Chef. Chef get a call he has to take - his wife.

At school the next day Caroline is on a cloud, but Deke tells Max what he heard. Max wants to tell Caroline immediately but Deke asks her to wait until after he gets his grade on his pastry homework.

Caroline brings BeBe lunch so she can grill her about Chef Nicolas, and finds out the truth anyway.

Caroline rushes to the diner later to tell Max what she has learned. She notices Max acting weird and Max admits she knew, but couldn't tell Caroline until Deke turned in his homework.

Max, Deke, and Caroline go into school, two to turn in their homework and one to work. BeBe comes out with a message for Nicolas from his wife, and Caroline offers to take it to him. She calls him into the hallway, and tries to confront him, but Nicolas is not moved. He explains his wife is in France and they have an understanding. He doesn't comprehend why Caroline is calling it off.

He begins charming her, so she calls Max out to help her and she shooes him off.
