15-Second 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' Clip: Best Or Worst Teaser Ever?

OK, the trend has now become silly.

Trailers have always been a small pleasure of theater-going. It's a big reason we all so often like arriving fairly early, so that we can scope out the "coming attractions." They've even become somewhat of a means of backdoor bundling.

"Oh, so that's the movie you really dig? Want to see a 90-second clip with all the best parts? That'll cost you one $10 adult ticket to 'Harold & Kumar Wait In Line At The DMV'."

More recently, trailers have become so hotly anticipated that the trailers themselves get teaser trailers announcing when they'll debut. Hell, "Prometheus" has gotten two such teaser teasers.

This, though? I almost lack the words.

Behold: 15 seconds of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2".

Stop looking over your shoulder. You are not being punk'd.

Yep, you get 15 seconds that should hype you up for the premiere of the trailer before "The Hunger Games" on March 23. See Kristen Stewart run like the pale, mopey Flash through the Pacific Northwest woods. See Taylor Lautner look pretty chill about "imprinting" on a vampire infant. See Robert Pattinson marvel at touching a hand that doesn't freeze a steak with a touch.

Congratulations, YouTubers: someone has taken the "5-Second Movies" concept and turned it into a legitimate marketing tool. Geek culture has jumped the shark. The shark then clipped its legs out from under it in mid-air, and it fell on its face. Just think: someone got paid to edit together 15 seconds of footage.
