At last, the speculation can end: this spring on FOX, "House" comes to an end. Co-executive producers Katie Jacobs, David Shore and co-executive producer/Emmy-winning star Hugh Laurie released a joint statement announcing they'd decided together that this current eighth season would be the titular complicated, cantankerous diagnostician of Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital's last.

Hollywood Week begins, and we see most (but not all) of the featured contestants from the audition rounds make it through the first day. Also, "Idol" manages to exploit a fall that could have seriously injured a contestant. Way to go, guys.

Creepy dolls, smoke monsters(?) and JC Penney ads: "The River" premiered last night on ABC and provided a pretty good horror story, but the venue detracted from the mood a bit. Does horror have a place on network TV? Get a full review of "The River" here.

I don't know about you, but I personally think the episode title of this week's 'Ringer' is among the best episode titles to ever exist in the history of television. It's a finely crafted program indeed that can work the word 'ho-bag' into an episode title.
